Add content

The first step to downloading content to devices is to add it to the Knox Manage cloud server.

Follow the steps below to add new content:

  1. Go to Content.

  2. Click ADD CONTENT. The Add content page opens.

  3. Under File, click SELECT FILE and browse to the file you want to upload. You can upload files up to 4 GB in size. The file is automatically scanned for malware, and is only added for upload if it has no issues.

  4. In the Content name field, enter a unique name for the file. The Download path field displays the path on the device where the file is saved.

You will need to rename the file if another file with the same name already exists.

  5. (Optional) Modify the default download path if required. You can modify paths based on the platform version of your devices:

    • Android 6 through 9 — You can specify any path.
    • Android 10 and higher — You must specify one of the media directories, such as Documents, Download, Pictures, Movies, or Music.
    • iOS — You can specify any path.
    • Windows — You must specify one of the user account’s media directories, such as Documents, Pictures, Music, or Videos.
  6. Save your changes:

    • Click SAVE to save the content file and return to the Content page.
    • Click SAVE AND ASSIGN to save and assign the content to a user or group. For more information, see Assign content.

Assign content

When you assign and push content, devices belonging to the assigned users or groups automatically download the content. If the device or user is assigned to a different group, any differences in assigned content are automatically synced on the device.

To assign content:

  1. Go to Content.
  2. Select the content you want to assign.
  3. Click ACTIONS > Assign Content. The Assign Content page opens.
  4. Under Assign content to select Groups or Users. Based on your selection, a list of groups or users displays.
  5. Select the groups or users you want to assign the content to. You can also use the Search bar to find the target groups or users.
  6. Assign the content:
    • Click ASSIGN ONLY to assign the content without pushing. Devices will not receive the content until you push.

    • Click ASSIGN AND PUSH CONTENT to assign and distribute the content to the selected groups or users.

You can also assign content from the Assign content page while managing groups (Groups > select a group or groups > ACTIONS > Assign content).

Edit content

To modify existing content:

  2. Select the content and click ACTIONS > Edit content. The Edit Content page opens.
    • Alternatively, click the content name, then click EDIT CONTENT In the details panel.

Delete content

Downloaded content automatically gets deleted from devices under the following circumstances:

  • The user account is assigned to a different group.
  • The device is assigned to a different group.
  • The device is unassigned from the user or group.

Additionally, you can manually delete content from the content library:

  1. Go to Content.
  2. Select the content and click ACTIONS > Delete content from library.
    • Alternatively, click the content name > > Delete Content.
  3. In the Delete content from library dialog, click DELETE.

Deleting a content file from the library won’t remove on-device copies, even if you unassign the content from the target devices. You can enable the Delete content from device when unassigned setting if you want unassigned files to be automatically deleted. See General settings for more information.

  5. Select the groups or users you want to unassign.
  6. Click UNASSIGN.

Unassigned content won’t be automatically deleted from devices unless the Delete content from device when unassigned setting is enabled. See General settings for more information.

  1. Go to Content.
  2. Select the content you want to push.
