How to configure Knox Browser in Knox Manage

Overview
This article guides you through how to set up Knox Browser, a highly secure and configurable web browser for Samsung devices running Android 11 and higher. If Knox Browser is enabled, the Knox Browser app automatically installs on the device after enrollment or when the profile deploys.
To get started with Knox Browser, you need a Knox Suite - Essentials Plan or Knox Suite - Enterprise Plan license and a Samsung device running Android 11 and higher.
How do I configure Knox Browser in Knox Manage?
- On the Knox Manage console, go to Profile.
- Create a new Android Enterprise profile or select an existing one.
- On the Set Policy page, go to the Android Enterprise policy drawer and click Knox Browser.
- Set Knox Browser App to Use.
- Click Save & Assign.
You can configure the following Knox Browser policies:
Policy | Description |
---|---|
Homepage URL | Sets the home page of the Knox Browser app. If set, the user can’t change the home page. This is a required value for deploying the app. |
Automatic App Updates | Determines whether the Knox Browser app automatically updates. If enabled, the browser also updates when the profile is pushed to the device. |
Hide URL Address Bar | Hides the address bar of the browser. |
Add URLs to Allowlist or Blocklist | Configure whether to restrict access to URLs. The restriction list is defined by the URLs policy. |
URLs | Enter the URLs to allow or block, as determined by the Add URLs to Allowlist or Blocklist policy. |
Web Intents | Enables URLs with web intents, which when opened, can download and launch apps on Android. |
Store Cookies | Allows web pages viewed on Knox Browser to store cookies on the device. |
Download Files | Enables file downloads. |
Upload Files | Allows the device user to upload files to web pages. |
Copy Text | Allows the device user to copy text from web pages viewed. |
Screen Capture | Allows the device user to take screenshots of web pages. |
Add Bookmarks | Defines a collection of bookmarks to push to Knox Browser. |
Text Scaling | Forces changing the text size on web pages. |
Ratio | Specifies the scale of the text size. |
Force Page Zoom | Forces changing the zoom level of web pages. |
Default Ratio | Specifies the zoom level of web pages. |

To add a shortcut and view app information, device users can take the following actions on the Knox Browser app:
Action | Description |
---|---|
Add to Home screen | Adds a shortcut to the app on the device’s home screen. Device users can also add this shortcut from the device’s profile screen. |
View App information | Device users can tap Bookmark > About to view detailed information about the Knox Browser app. |
