Overview

You may want to prevent device users from changing the mobile network settings for new or factory-reset devices that aren’t yet enrolled in Knox Manage.

How do I prevent changes to the mobile network settings by device users?

Before enrolling devices in Knox Manage, ensure that you disable Configure Mobile Network Settings in your profile:

  1. In the Knox Manage console, go to Profile and select the profile policy you’d like to modify.
  2. On the Set Policy page, go to Android Enterprise > Connectivity.
  3. Set Configure Mobile Network Settings to Disallow.
  4. Click Save or Save & Assign and push the profile to your device.

When you set up a device with a SIM card, the mobile data is set to On by default. If you then enroll the device in Knox Manage, the Configure Mobile Network Settings policy is applied and the device user isn’t able to toggle mobile data on and off in the device settings.
