Overview
When using the Bulk Manage Tags & Aliases feature to bulk update aliases for your device fleet, you may notice that the aliases aren’t automatically updated on the devices. However, your devices are correctly updated if you manually add the aliases on the console.
Cause
When using the Bulk Manage Tags & Aliases feature, Knox Manage didn’t automatically send a device command to update the user information.
Starting with Knox Manage 25.01, updating bulk tags and aliases automatically sends the Update User Information device command to the device. The provided workaround is no longer required.
Workaround
To update device aliases, you can manually update the user information for all the devices:
- In the Knox Manage console, go to Device.
- Select your affected devices.
- Click Device Command. The Device Command dialog opens.
- Select Knox Manage, then click Update User Information.
- Click OK to confirm and send the device command.
You can now launch the Knox Manage agent on the devices to reflect the new aliases.
