To help effectively manage your enterprise fleet, Knox Asset Intelligence provides a robust asset tracking solution that allows you view the outdoor location of your devices in real time. Through the Location dashboard, you can easily send commands to locate lost or stolen devices, send notifications to device users, or ping devices to get their last-known location.

Supported devices

Location tracking features are GPS-based, and are available for all devices supported by Knox Asset Intelligence. For a complete list of devices that support outdoor location tracking features, see Devices secured by Knox.

Location dashboard settings

In order for Knox Asset Intelligence to collect location data from your enterprise devices, you must first configure location dashboard settings. To access these settings:

  1. Go to Dashboard Settings > DATA CONDITIONS tab.
  2. In the DATA UPLOAD field, enable Location tracking.
  3. Define how often outdoor GPS data is collected from your devices, in hours and minutes. Default value is 10 minutes. Minimum value is 10 minute.

Location permission settings

In addition to enabling the dashboard settings on the console, you must also ensure that your users grant location permissions to the Knox Asset Intelligence agent. This permission is required in order for the device to send data to the Location dashboard.

If the device user didn’t previously grant this permission during enrollment, you can make a location permission request directly from the console. To do this:

  1. Go to the Devices page.
  2. Select one or more devices, then click ACTIONS > Send permissions notification.
  3. Click CONFIRM.
